This event will be an inter-disciplinary
discussion about cultural competence in medicine. We will have
speakers from various disciplines who will discuss how medical
professionals can provide the best possible care to patients, while
respecting the patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs. There are
times when medical practices violate some cultures' values or beliefs,
and this can cause conflict and friction with the patient. So, we
will be exploring the issue of cultural competence in medicine.
